Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send an email or other direct message, we retain it as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive certain technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- Timestamps and duration for page views
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed during the visit
- The referring site, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to measure traffic in aggregate, such as which pages are visited most often and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted search to the appropriate partner service
- Maintain site availability, speed, and core functions
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Measure which Reagan County resource pages visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Our pages describe how to reach the Reagan County Sheriff, the combined County Clerk and 112th District Clerk, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Government-held public information is governed by the Texas Public Information Act, while dissemination of computerized criminal history is addressed in Texas Government Code Chapter 411. Those official records are not stored here. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on this website. Their privacy policies, not this policy, control any data entered into those tools. Each partner determines its retention and sharing practices. Review those terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Reagan County government site, sheriff and clerk pages, Texas agency systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy governs. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- A government or law-enforcement body when valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security measures intended to protect the information we collect. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may request deletion if a minor has provided information.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live and whether an applicable privacy or consumer-protection law covers the request, you may have rights concerning your data. The Texas Public Information Act governs information held by Texas government bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of government criminal-history information. Those laws concern official government records, not a criminal-record database maintained by this site. You may ask to:
- Confirm or obtain a copy of data held about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal data when the law provides that right
- Opt out of covered types of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as our practices or legal duties change. A revised version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
