The Reagan County Sheriff is the main local arresting and booking agency for the county and Big Lake. No separate Big Lake Police Department was found in official sources. Texas DPS Highway Patrol may create a report after a state or highway stop, and Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens may make wildlife or outdoor arrests. The agency that made the arrest retains its incident material even when the Reagan County Law Enforcement Center performs the booking.

- For an unlisted local record, send a narrow written Texas Public Information Act request to the sheriff and ask for redacted public portions.
A Class C city citation may remain with Big Lake Municipal Court. For one's own identity-matched Texas record, DPS uses the CR-63 fingerprint review process through FAST. Each channel answers a different question.

The Texas Public Information Act requires prompt handling, but ten business days is not a universal production deadline. That period often concerns an agency request for an Attorney General ruling when it seeks to withhold material. Active-investigation, juvenile, victim, and private data may be withheld or redacted.

What an Arrest Record Shows
A Reagan County arrest record can identify the time, place, agency, officer, alleged statute, and whether a warrant supplied the arrest basis. The booking record then adds intake facts. Juvenile law-enforcement records are confidential under Texas Family Code Section 58.008. Privacy rules, an active investigation, or a court order can also limit public release.
Reagan Arrest Record Chain

Prosecutors report charging action, and clerks report the court outcome. A delay or error at one stage can leave the statewide record incomplete even when the local file has moved forward.

Those DPS completeness figures measure reporting at the time of the 2024 report. They are not a conviction count, a total county DWI figure, or proof that the other cases had no result. The example shows why a Reagan County clerk file may be newer than DPS CCH.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
Reagan County does not publish an official recent-arrest log, booking blotter, jail roster, mugshot gallery, or mobile app. For a recent event, call the sheriff with a full name and approximate arrest time. Ask whether the person is in current custody and request the booking number. Then submit a written request for any public arrest and booking portions. A phone call can locate a record, but it is not a formal written public-information request.
If a case has been filed, the combined clerk can search County Court and 112th District Court dockets. The city municipal court handles qualifying Class C and citation matters. Absence from a current custody check proves little about past arrest history because a person may have been released, transferred, or never booked at the local facility. Likewise, a recent booking can appear before a clerk cause exists.

Reagan Crash Arrest Records
A traffic arrest can produce records at more than one agency. TxDOT is the custodian of the CR-3 crash report, while the investigating agency retains an arrest narrative, dash-camera video, scene photographs, and field notes it created. TxDOT charges six dollars for a regular CR-3 and eight dollars for a certified copy, plus a possible card surcharge. Transportation Code Section 550.065 limits release to involved and proper-interest categories.

Request the crash report from TxDOT, but send a separate focused request to the sheriff or state agency for the arrest and scene material it holds.
Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest shows that an officer took a person into custody or that a booking took place. It does not establish guilt. A conviction is a court's final adjudication of guilt. These records have different creators, dates, and endpoints. Match the booking to the filed case before drawing any conclusion.

A dismissed Reagan County arrest that still appears should be checked against the clerk's disposition and the person's own fingerprint-based DPS record. Texas Chapter 55A expunction is limited to qualifying outcomes and is not automatic merely because a charge was dismissed.
